Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book!
It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :)
Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia...
Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru
The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too.
There are like 3 sections to this small cafe and each section has a different feel to it. I sat at the last section which was outdoor.
My chicky sandwich ($8.50) and avocado shake with gula melaka ($8). Both were great! but i thought the drink was way too ex... Should have just been half the price.
Der's English burger ($6.50) - Sausage with portobello mushrooms. The weekend all day english breakfast ($11.50) was sold out by the time we were there.
The 2nd section was more of an art gallery with photos by different photographers. They were all black and white pics with a dash of modern cartoons infused in it. I'm not sure what is the name for these kinds of photos. I took some of the works which I thought were pretty cool.
